Majestic Gem Bengals
Majestic Gem Bengals is a luxurious, purebred Bengal cattery located in Southern Oregon with the goal to find the crossroads between the wild and the royal.
The client proposed a true branding challenge for their cattery, desiring a logo that would best showcase their high end, royalty adjacent status without the use of a crown in the branding. They also specified that they didn’t want a cat within the logo itself under any circumstances, desiring a logo that would truly stand out from other catteries and breeders and make a person truly say, “WOW, I love your logo.”
Inspiration
For my logo presentation, I decided to explore a heraldic inspired brand identity with the use of a coat of arms, flourishes, and a shield to create a subtle yet fancy brand icon of a Bengal cat’s eye hidden within the crest of the shield. I additionally played with a bespoke wordmark that would blend a looser, more soft typeface with a classic, elegant serif. The client was very clear that they wished for burgundy, red, black, and gold to be their primary color palette, which I utilized for the brand direction.

Unfortunately, the client opted to go in a different direction for the project (using ai to generate a logo instead). However, I’m very proud of the work put into this brand identity, and didn’t want to let it slip into the ether forever. It additionally showcases what I can create within a short time limit and challenged my creative brain in a way I’d been craving for some time. C’est La Vie.
